Adding water - Laying an ink wash

Parker Quink fountain pen ink was an unusual choice for this illustration, as it is dye-based and therefore not lightfast. But like most dye inks it dissolves beautifully in a wash, and at this point in my chapter on pen and ink I wanted to introduce a little colour without upstaging the sunflower drawing in the next section. The swan photo is one of the many pictures I have taken in Windsor Great Park over the years. You'll find her on pages 142 and 143.
